TRAFFIC ADVISORY – Global Energy Race

Please be advised, the City of Dallas – Office of Special Events has issued a special event permit for Global Energy Race  on Sunday, September 24. Projected attendance is 2,000 people. 

Road closures related to this special event will impact traffic surrounding the American Airlines Center, Victory Park, and Dallas Design District.

The following streets will be closed to traffic on Sunday, September 24 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.:

  • Woodall Rodgers Freeway westbound service road – All lanes closed between Olive Street and Akard Street
  • Akard Street – All lanes closed between Olive Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway westbound service road
  • Harry Hines Boulevard – All lanes closed between Moody Street and Akard Street
  • Cedar Springs Street – All lanes closed between Olive Street and Field Street
  • McKinney Avenue – All lanes closed between Olive Street and Akard Street
  • Paul Street – All lanes closed between Field Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway westbound service road
  • Harwood Street – All lanes closed between McKinney Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway eastbound service road, and between Payne Street and Olive Street
  • Olive Street – All lanes closed between Houston Street and Cedar Springs Street
  • Houston Street – All lanes closed between Harry Hines Boulevard/Alamo Street and Olive Street
  • All-Star Way – All lanes closed between Victory Avenue and Houston Street
  • Victory Avenue West – All lanes closed between Houston Street and Victory Avenue/Hi Line Drive
  • Hi Line Drive – All lanes closed between Victory Avenue West and the Trinity Strand Trailhead
  • Turtle Creek Boulevard – Only northbound lanes closed from Market Center Boulevard to Hi Line Drive
  • Victory Avenue – Only northbound lanes closed between Victory Avenue West and Hi Line Drive
  • Interstate 35E northbound ramp closed to Hi Line Drive/Victory Avenue
  • Interstate 35E southbound service road intermittently closed at Hi Line Drive
  • Payne Street intermittently closed between Houston Street and Harwood Street
  • Edison Street intermittently closed at Hi Line Drive
  • Slocum St. intermittently closed at Hi Line Drive
  • Oak Lawn Avenue intermittently closed at Hi Line Drive
  • Turtle Creek Boulevard southbound intermittently closed at Hi Line Drive

Parking is prohibited in these areas on Sunday, September 24 from 12 a.m. – 12 p.m.:

  • Woodall Rodgers Freeway westbound service road between Olive Street and Akard Street (both sides)
  • Akard Street between Woodall Rodgers Freeway and Olive Street (both sides)
  • Harry Hines Boulevard between Akard Street and Moody Street (both sides)
  • Houston Street from Olive Street to Harry Hines Boulevard/Alamo Street (both sides)
  • Olive Street between Houston Street and Harry Hines Boulevard (both sides)
  • Victory Avenue West between Houston Street and Hi Line Drive/Victory Avenue (both sides)
  • Hi Line Dr. between Victory Avenue and Trinity Strand Trailhead (both sides and median)
