The Dallas Film Commission is the official film commission for the Greater Dallas area and is a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International. The film commission is a Division of the City of Dallas, Office of Economic Development and is also supported by the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The commission is responsible for marketing and developing sales strategies to attract business and foster the growth of the creative media industries in Dallas, serving industry segments that produce content such as motion pictures, television, commercials, corporate videos, music videos, documentary and still photography as well as new and emerging forms of media.
The commission provides information regarding local resources such as crew, equipment and services. Its mission also includes educating, promoting and advocating for growth of the local industry. In November of 2009 the film commission transitioned to the City of Dallas, Office of Economic Development in order to provide a more synergistic approach to growing the City’s targeted Media Industries which has resulted in an unprecedented increase in production in the past year, particularly in television series with TNT’s “Dallas”; two Fox series, “The Good Guys” and “Lonestar”; and the Warner Bros./Jerry Bruckheimer series “Chase” for NBC with others still in consideration.
Reflecting experienced staff, civic support and a diverse selection of sites throughout one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States, the commission is your partner from project conception to completion – locating the most suitable sites in the area, expediting approval processes, and anticipating and preventing potential issues. We will strive to help you create an excellent final product, delivered on time and within budget.
